Improved mobility and everyday living: an interview with Lali
“I am an independent person and try to always stay active. Even though I can propel a manual wheelchair well, I have been using heavy and electric wheelchairs before. The electric wheelchair broke and for some time I could not move independently. The wheelchair could stop anytime while driving and I needed someone to push it.
Recently I received a new active-style wheelchair – the Expression – and I could feel the difference from the very beginning. I cannot imagine using a heavy wheelchair anymore in the future. The lighter weight and active style is much more convenient to use. I can easily do transfers from the wheelchair to another surface and vice versa.
Unfortunately, there are not many opportunities in my small village to diversify my lifestyle, however my new wheelchair has improved my mobility and everyday living.”
