Diversity Action Network (DAN), formerly known as the Disability Action Network, is a non-profit organization that was founded in Somaliland in 2002 to provide physical rehabilitation and inclusion services to people with disabilities living in the Horn of Africa. DAN’s mission is to alleviate suffering, save lives, build resilience, and protect the rights of crises-affected communities, with a focus on the most vulnerable. They work toward their mission by offering services, including physical rehabilitation; promoting inclusion; and increasing access to food, nutrition, WASH, shelter, livelihood, health, education, and protection services.

DAN focuses on enabling people with disabilities to achieve full inclusion and participation through the provision of mobility aids, hearing devices, and physical rehabilitation among other services. Additionally, DAN mainstreams the inclusion of people with disabilities into other services and sectors, including nutrition; water, sanitation, and hygiene; shelter; healthcare; and protection. DAN envisions a Horn of Africa that is inclusive, free from poverty, hunger, malnutrition, and injustice where everyone – especially the most vulnerable – can meet their full potential.
